Will dying my hair darker damage it?

i know everything we do to our hair damages it, but will it be damaged really badly? my hair is medium brown and i wanna go dark brown. thanks!

also when my roots start coming in, will it be really noticable since the color is similar?

I have learned from my own experiences that chemicals are not good for your hair. It may look good now but 20 or 30 years down the road you will see the damage. Try using natural products.

yeah it will damage it but if u do it properly it wont be really damaged just make sure u use a really good conditioner after u dye it u may even want to use a leave in conditioner. the good thing is since u already have dark hair u wont have to do ur roots so much

darkening it is a lot better than lightening it. if your going to do it though have it done professionally. it looks much better and its better for your hair.

Dying your hair Dark Brown from Medium Brown will not be very damaging trust me. The day after you color your hair use a good conditioner and let it set in your hair for about 15-30 minutes. I get my hair dyed black from a dark brown natural color and my hair is not damaged at all. When your roots start coming in there should not be that much of a difference. If there is though, you can always buy the box of color again and just touch up your roots. My mom works in a salon and has short black hair in the "Pixie" cut. Dying your hair in general is harmful there are a lot of chemicals in dye's this can result in more breakage and your hair will dry out and get frizzy. As far as your roots go of course it will be noticeable because your hair is medium brown and that is the color your roots will come in after about 2-3 weeks so you are going to have to keep dying it or just let it be natural. I suggest you go to a salon and let them dye it for you that box stuff isn't that great. At least have a professional do it for you but remember that depending on the length of your hair it could get pricey.
