How long does semi-permanent hair dye last and is there anyway to remove it if the results aren'

As said, how long does that type of dye last and what can I do if it goes wrong? I have fairly dark brown hair and I'm thinking of putting a blue or purple dye in and hoping it doesn't come out too dark. I can't really bleach my hair though, so that's not an option.

If it makes a difference, my hair is medium length for a guy and a little wavy.

semi permanent on average lasts 6 - 8 washes so it depends on how often you wash your hair

i also have dark brown hair and iv used dyes similar to this (it was red) and it didnt really dye my hair, just left a tint to it, however mine is also long so it may come out more on medium length hair

as for getting rid of it, you could either just keep washing it untill it all comes out or try putting some black hair dye in to make the colour darker and less visible

About two weeks it takes to come out i often dye my hair blue and purple.

Depends how porous your hair is. I put a semi-permenant red dye in once and still had shades of the colour in my hair a year later! Do what the makes of hair dye tell you to do - a strand test on a bit of your hair that isn't much visible. This way you'll be able to tell the end result and decide to go ahead with it or not. The only way to get rid of the colour is to put another dye in on top if it, but even that could go wrong... If you hve dark brown hair, the end colour will probably be very dark if you're going for purple or blue. It actually might not even really show up. You could use a pre-lightener which doesn't contain bleach. If you have serious doubts, go to a hairdresser!

It usually depends on the dye. Most manufactures say it last between 2-3 weeks, however there are many factors that can change this; like how often you wash your hair, how much you are in direct sunlight...

If the results are not what you wanted you will either have to live with them or dye your hair again.

Most semi-permanent haircolor lasts 26-28 shampoos. To get it out sooner, use a clarifying shampoo. If it's too dark, prepare to do alot of shampooing. Or buy a permanent dye in your natural color.

Try using a one time wash in wash out dye. This means you can test the colour first before dying it with semi-permanent dye. Although they don't work as well, it would give you some idea if the colour would look good on your hair. They normally cost about 鎷?-鎷?. Good luck!
