Depends on what's traditional for YOUR tribe.

My people don't tie their hair unless they are dancers, then it's just a bun to put feathers INTO. or TIE onto.

Cherokee don't tie thier hair at all.

Plains braid their hair.

But i gota say there is NOTHING prettier then seeing an Indian womans hair in the wind
