What would happen to my hair if...?

I have to go swimming tomorrow in a pool that has chlorine in it. I am planning on dying my hair a medium brown tonight. When I get into the chloronated pool tomorrow evening will my hair be ok, or will it fade? Please respond to my question. The type of hair dye that I am using is "Garnier Nutrisse".

I DO NOT think you should use BOXED hair color. There is no WAY they could have the proper 2 ingredients in that box. YOu need to consider purchasing the 2 ingredients at your local Beauty Supply....or I truly think you will be on here asking us what you can do now that your hair is orange......... if you need the help I will be more than happy to tell you what color and what level of developer you should buy....Its simply a matter of knowing what color hair you start with...and what level youare going to...

As far as swimming when people come to me they are given a card that tells them not to shower, shampoo or have their hair in water for 48 hours.

i may be wrong, but i'm pretty sure you're supposed to wait a full 24 hours before getting your hair wet... let alone chlorinated

What would happen to my hair if...?

i wouldn't chance it because chlorine is real strong so if you do wanna go swimming just try not to put your head under so much.

What would happen to my hair if...?

i am sure a lot of the color will fade out- i would wait 2 dye your hair a few days

Im not a professional or anything but I have had my hair professionally dyed and i do know that your not supposed to go in chlorinated water untill several days after.

What would happen to my hair if...?

I think there will not be any reactions to the chemicals in the water because the hair dye is so strong. My only concern would be if the sun would fade it a lot.

i have 2 agree 24 hours and you'll be in the clear.but if u really like 2 swim wear a swimming cap there fashion statements as well.

STOP !!!!!!! your hair will go green because of the chemical reaction . You should probably wait until after you swim and make sure you put a heavy dose of leave in conditioner and protect with a cap to help prevent to much deep penetration of chlorine to your hair . As your hair is porous it can act like a sponge , this is why your hair can still smell of chlorine many days after exposure even if you are washing it with shampoo.
