Best way to know is to buy salon products that are specifically for keeping color treated hair from fading.

Bumble Bee is good, as is Redkin.

They're about twice the price, but their products are not as acidic as store bought shampoo. Your shampoo will probably fade your hair simply because it has a higher acid PH.

All colors fade. Some colors (such as red) fade more quickly than others. There are many shampoos on the market specifically designed for color treated hair. Any will help. I'm partial to Nolita.

always use a shampoo that has "safe to use on colortreated or permed hair" to prevent fading. it will say this on the back of the bottle, usually in the paragraph about it.

You dont buy hair products in a grocery market. You need to use Redken for color treated hair.

Wash your hair in a tepid water, NOT hot or even real warm water. It opens up the hair and the color bleeds out. Always use a tepid / cooler water to wash your hair.

Ironically, sunlight is the primary cause of fading color of dyed hair.

After that, its shampooing. Avoid the two and color lasts much longer... but not very convenient...

Sun can fade your color too. I like to wear hats when I'm outside for a while.

But to help it from fading you need to use shampoo for color treated hair You can also use color enhancing shampoos they have a small amount of color in them that help your color to last longer. Paul Mitchell and Aveda have color enhancer shampoos. I think Sally's carry some too.

Get a color safe shampoo! All shampoo fades hair because of the sodium laureyl sulfate... which is higher on the ph scale and will strip color! I highly recommend deposit shampoos! the efficient ones only can be purchased by stylists... but some salons sell them! Artec is amazing it is a color shampoo deposit line... Ask your stylist if the can fix up one of these color deposit shampoos for you. It isnt free but well worth it! All the store bought shampoos are actually not so great for your hair... Alot of them are waxed based and actually do not cleanse but continue to let buildup grow! These are the color safe shampoos I would recommend... TIGI Fashionista, Biolage Color Safe, Kenra, etc! Use a professional shampoo... in the end it is worth the spend! Im not sure what color your hair is but that also can have alot to do with its staying power... If it is red then it will fade fast... The funny thing is that red fades the fastest yet it is the hardest to remove... This is due to its molecule size! There are alot of other factors that fade your hair... many enviromental factors such as Sun, Smoke, Pollution, etc! You can get color protectant sprays that are like a sunscreen to help protect your hair from UV rays :)

All shampoos will fade your hair. Try using shampoos designed specially for dyed hair and after washing your hair when you're rinsing the conditioner off, pour some cold water down your hair to close the cells and keep the colour in.

try pureology its sulfate free. sulfates strip the hair
