Hair toner help?!?

I have naturally black hair, but ive been dyying it, and I was trying to get like a light brownish carmel color with blondish highlights when i went to the salon the other day. Well because of having hair dye in it before that, it made the results ALITTLE hint of like reddish and orange (especially like my hangs and the framing of my hair) and some blonde, and i wanted to tone it on saturday by them again because i didnt like those results. would it be okay if i decided to use a loreal toning refiner (thats what the product is called) for medium to brown hair on my hair to take out the orange red hints on my hair? If i used it, how would it affect like the redish and orange and the blonde parts of my hair since it has like 3 colors? Sorry this is long! And what if i leave it on too long? THANK YOU!

Hair toner help?!?

To tone down red you need to use green.. so whatever you get make sure it has ASH in it .when you put that toner on the orange and red It will go more to brown in color. Good luck!

Medium/dark brown to blonde?

ok, my question for anyone that dyes their hair blonde: I have medium/dark brown hair naturally, and I want it a really light blonde. How do I go about doing this? and when my roots grow in, can I just use a store bought bottle and it'll come out the color I want?

Medium/dark brown to blonde?

Yes I have black hair and have died my hair blonde successfully. I used Clairol Frost %26amp; Tip. If your hair is virgin it should work with one application.

Medium/dark brown to blonde?

store bought might not work unless u want permenant color. You will probably need to bleach the brown out of your hair before putting the brown in

Medium/dark brown to blonde?

Hum.... I heard its the years of the Brunette.

Medium/dark brown to blonde?

Uhh, well I'm naturally really blonde, so I'm not sure if i can help you but .. you have to take it in steps, like dont dye it light blonde the first time, go up in shades. You should really get it professionally died, because they will add just the right tint of everything.

Heres steps on how to do it yourself! maybe im not sure haha.

:Examine your coloring and choose a shade that will enhance your beauty. Go for golden and sunny tones if you wear warm colors well, and opt for beige and ash shades if cool colors complement your complexion.

Step 1:

Remember that the color you see on the box will not be the color you end up with. To go within two shades of your natural color, select a shade lighter than what you desire, which when blended with your natural color will create the shade you're after. (You can then skip step 5.) To go more than two shades lighter than your natural hair color requires that you lift or strip your natural color, thereby creating a base on which you can deposit a new color.

Step 2:

Deep condition your hair a few days prior to your treatment. Before your process, wash hair with a clarifying shampoo or a mix of vinegar and baking soda. The former will strengthen your hair while the latter will remove any buildup or deposits.

Step 3:

Strip your natural color using a bleach or product specifically designed to lift color from your hair. The more dramatic the color change the more intense the stripper should be. Follow the directions exactly, especially the time limit, and remain calm as you see your hair turn a very strange color.

Step 4:

Proceed with the application of your desired permanent color - you cannot go lighter with semi-permanent color. Begin your color application about 1 inch from your crown and distribute to ends, saving the roots for last. For long or very curly hair you might need to buy two kits, as well as enlist a friend to assist you with the process.

Step 5:

Keep a detailed journal of your process, citing color names, application process and application time. This will come in handy for your touch-ups, or if you need professional advice on adjusting your shade.

Step 6:

Tend to your roots every three to four weeks for seamless color.

Serious hair help!? What do I tell my hairdresser?

My hair needs serious tidying up. I have medium-long length hair and fairly good condition. However, my last stylist didn't do a very good job. I have layers, and they've grown very uneven - and they were cut WAY too thick, while my actual hair length looks like rats tails. I also had a side fringe put in, way too THICK and uneven. I've also grown tonnes of frizzy-looking stray bits, especially the hair around my face and all the way along the back.

What can I tell my NEW stylist to help me out? What should I have done to sort out the problem?

Serious hair help!? What do I tell my hairdresser?

You need to find a stylish who is very experienced working w/ thick hair. During the consultation, point out what you don't like about your current style %26amp; what you are hoping to achieve.

Since you have thick hair, you probably want long layers to take out some of the bulk %26amp; to add definition. Keeping the layers long will allow the weight of the hair to pull itself straight. Shorter layers will tend to spring upwards %26amp; create more volume.

You should also consider using products to smooth your hair.

Use your hands to describe the length you want %26amp; bring photos to illustrate your ideas.

Serious hair help!? What do I tell my hairdresser?

Unfortunately you need to start from scratch and cut your hair shorter to get a even cut. New hairstylist will tell you the same that's only solution to bad hair cut is a new one. She did a real bad razor cut on you, hair is in choppy uneven layers. If your not willing to get hair cut short. You need to get extensions too hide bad hair cut if its that unsightly ! Just let hair grow out while wearing weave. Start new !

Serious hair help!? What do I tell my hairdresser?

First look on-line to get some pics of the hairstyles you want. just type in the search (pics for medium to long hair), Print the ones you like and talk to your stylist about the kind of cut you want. Ask her questions about how to style your hair once it's been cut and how to help tame the frizzies. A good hairstlylist will listen and give you pointers.

best of luck.

Brushing your hair!?...?

I basically never brush my hair, just use loads of conditioner when I wash it. The problem is, whenever I brush my hair, no matter what type of brush I use, my hair just becomes very static and flies everywhere. I tried spraying hairspray on the brush, but that just makes my hair stiff. Basically, why does my hair always frizz up when I brush it and how can i combat this!?

Btw: I have medium thickness, wavy hair (I straighten it though).

Brushing your hair!?...?

well girl you know me i have natural curly hair and lord please when i wake up i look like elvis.......in the morning! hahaha. so just be happy the way you are it might pay off one day.

Love ya holly

Brushing your hair!?...?

Try washing your brushes in shampoo and let them dry ...then maybe spray them with hairspray....

Hope this was helpful ~~~

Good Luck !

Brushing your hair!?...?

you could have a static-y brush. go buy a new one.

Do I have to dye my hair more than once?

Okay so I have medium-dark brown hair naturally. I had highlights in my hair and they were so ugly and made my hair look like orangey penny nasty copper brass looking. So I dyed my hair, first I dyed with Revlon Colorist Medium Ash Brown to get all the red out and then I dyed it with Herbal Essences Chocolate Velvet which is a dark chocolate brown. Now my hair color is dark chocolate brown, EXACTLY What I wanted and it's gorgeous. VERY Close to my natural haircolor.

What I'm wondering is if I'm going to have to dye my hair again? Is this going to fade over time and look ugly? I was hoping it would stay in a medium-dark brown shade and I could let my natural haircolor begin to grow in. Is hairdye a thing you have to keep doing to look good or if it's the same haircolor as your natural can it be a one time thing? Cause I dont wanna have to dye my hair like once a month. I just wanted to get the uglyness out! If I do need to somehow maintain my color can I just use brilliantbrunette

Do I have to dye my hair more than once?

Only time will tell if it will fade (the structure of your hair will determine it). If you want to get rid of the color and go back to being natural (man I wish I could) leaving it alone to grow out is your best option, stop coloring it all together no matter how much it bugs you. Color wrecks your hair no matter how good a quality it is. If you can bare it a good cut to get some of it out and keeping it trimmed regularly will help.

Enjoy your natural hair color as long as you can. I started going grey at 24 and have had to color my hair so it blends in ever since.

Do I have to dye my hair more than once?

The only way to keep hair dye from fading is to get it professionally done. The dye they use bonds to your hair a lot better than cheap store bought products and the color stays in. I only have to go in once every 4 months to get mine touched up.

Do I have to dye my hair more than once?

If you've redyed your hair the same color as it originally was, you shouldn't have to dye it anymore (since you won't be able to tell when it grows out)

Darker hair colors do tend to fade after awhile (but usually only after the first few times it's dyed... I've had my hair dyed black for years, and I don't think I could get the dye off if I TRIED!)

Even if it does fade though, browns usually aren't too noticeable

I am black and I want to get extensions sewn in but is it a good idea cuz my hair is past my shoulde

I had it glued in before and still looked good but because I ama swimmer it wasn't long before the glue losened and as wellas the tracks so I want it sewn in this time but how long will it last before new growth is shown? Is it a good idea to have the extensions layered or no? I am mixed and I do have blue eyes--do you think me looking black and having blues eyes is a good idea to wear jet black hair or medium brown?? Thanks!! :D

I am black and I want to get extensions sewn in but is it a good idea cuz my hair is past my shoulders?

You can still get extensions sewn in with long hair. Just make sure they sew the tracks on to small cornrows within your hair and don't braid your entire head and then track it. If you have a lot of hair, braiding your whole head will give you that "big hair" look. However you need to pick a hair texture as close to your natural texture as possible so that the extensions and your hair blend well.

How long it will last will depend on how fast your hair grows. If you get a color close to your natural shade it will obviously look better and more natural longer then if you got platinum tracks sewn into dark nappy hair. If your hair is permed then your weave will last about the same amount of time as your perm. My hair is sewn (its mine cause I paid for it) and it lasts for about two months before my natural hair get too nappy to blend well with my tracks.

I think dark hair with blue eyes are very attractive and so do many other black girls or they wouldn't spend so much on blue colored contacts. Provided your natural color isn't red I think you would probably look good in almost any hair color. Just remember if you choose a color that's a lot darker then your natural shade your extensions won't look good as long because you can get away with darker roots a lot longer then you can get away with lighter ones.

I am black and I want to get extensions sewn in but is it a good idea cuz my hair is past my shoulders?

getting them sewn in is a lot healther for your hair than getting them glued in. the Glue rips out your hair when it comes out. Getting them swen in will last a month or two. I would go with a brown because of your blue eyes.

I am black and I want to get extensions sewn in but is it a good idea cuz my hair is past my shoulders?

I think most black girls would kill you since they have problems growing hair past their sholders. Could you show us a pic of what you have now? I mean, why mess with a good thing?

I am black and I want to get extensions sewn in but is it a good idea cuz my hair is past my shoulders?

itll take a month to show (depending onhow you take care of it) since you plan to swim in it it will show faster depending on your weave. it is nice to layer them. black ahould be pretty black is pretty on everyone. put but putting in tracks you have to braid your hair but i dont know how your hair do. Most black ppl have to wash their hair after getting in cholrine because that will eat your hair and take it out. so during swimming season i wouldnt recommend weave

I am black and I want to get extensions sewn in but is it a good idea cuz my hair is past my shoulders?

don't bother getting a weave since you will be swimming the chlorine will destroy the weave ...later on you can get medium brown weave put in that will look nice....sewn in is better than the glue...just don't get the extensions too heavy or you could suffer from alopecia from extensions

I am black and I want to get extensions sewn in but is it a good idea cuz my hair is past my shoulders?

My hair is past my shoulders (well, when stretched, since I'm natural) and I've gotten weaves sewn in. It looks fine and what I like is that I can change it up and get a shorter do than my normal hair. I just recently had mine done like Rihanna's bob and it was CUTE and good for change! Anyway, layered could be cute as that is in right now. As far as swimming, I would say the sewn in method would work better. I don't like weaves very much, so I take mine out in like a month. I think you can experiment with colors and both brown and black would look good. You can even go with some streaks here and there.

HELP hair dye problem?

Well I dyed my hair on Friday, and I HATE it. Before it was a medium dark brown, and now its a really reallly dark brown. It looks black. She also bleached a streak of blonde on my bang, and i hate it. I tried Color Oops, which was supposed to take the dye out of my hair. It didn't even work. I want it back to the medium dark brown hair. Can I re-dye it medium brown or will it make my hair orange?

HELP hair dye problem?

Color won't lift color...If I were you I would go in to your hairdresser and have her do a bleaching shampoo, it will lighten it up for you, I would also suggest having her put on a semi permant color to help even out the color of you hair, it's healthier and not as harsh as permanent.

HELP hair dye problem?

I would go back to the salon and tell her that you dont like the color. If you dont want to do that, wait it out. It will eventually fade as you wash it out. Mixing different solutions in your hair could really mess it up. Let a professional do it. You dont want your hair to fall out!

Dont sweat it, I am sure you are just in initial shock. It may grow on you.

HELP hair dye problem?

I had the same problem. I dyed it black then tried to bleach it. It went orange. The trick is to wait at least 2 weeks, and only then dye it again. That should work.

How do i make myself HOT? i have a very sophisticated look and i want a fun hair style?

God loves everyone.

HE already loves youxD

How do i make myself HOT? i have a very sophisticated look and i want a fun hair style?

GO FOR THE POPSTAR RAZOR CUT

How do i make myself HOT? i have a very sophisticated look and i want a fun hair style?

u should go with sleek and strait or wavy. if ur on the go try and up do with two pieces hanging down.for outfits try a cute pencil skirt with a cute v-neck or halter that shows a little skin but not too much.

good luck with your new look!

How do i make myself HOT? i have a very sophisticated look and i want a fun hair style?

i recommend a shorted cut like maybe a little below the chin in the front and a little shorter in the back. if ur hair is wavy or poofy, try using a straightening iron to0 get it slick straight, then maybe as some hilights %26amp;%26amp; some lowlights also to add dimension and spunk. maybe you could cut yourself some bangs also. i recomend side-swept bangs with this hairstyle.

Im i losing my hair or my mind?

I am a 20 year old male and I am worried about my hair line, or hair in general.

I have had a deal of stress in the last couple years (Short running relationships, Deaths in my family and also i work in the ever so plesent food industry)

I was never the type of guy that was to finnick about his hair, right now is one of the only times in my life that i have had medium to longerish hair and ihave began to notise things.

The following questions may seem silly to the more hair savy people but is it normal for your hair to be heavy on the side or

back then it is on the top ( not baldingly or visable spots but notisably thinnerish?) its far more notisable when wet.

Plus if what i fear is true should i go see a doctor (is there anything they can realy do?) I've heard you go see a dermatoligist (i thought they were zit doctors?)

do more vitamins help ( i dont always take them so.......)

anyways what im thying to ask is that if it sounds like im losing my hair or my mind?

Im i losing my hair or my mind?

I hate to tell you this but I know many people in their early to mid twenties that have not only started to go bald but are well on the way...What you are explaining is typical.there are alot of gimmick like vitamins and plugs and lots of stuff but all the ones that are permanent are costly..You may just want to change your hair style to something that blends the hair over the middle of your head a little better to hide the thinning spots...when you have longer hair on the sides and back sometimes it makes the problem more noticeable than less..

Im i losing my hair or my mind?

Stress can definitely cause your hair to fall out. Although it is very common in men to thin on top. DO NOT use rogaine because if you start it then it has to be a lifetime commitment or you could loose all your hair from stopping using it. Take vitamin B and see if that helps at all!! Good luck!

Im i losing my hair or my mind?

The trait of baldness is genetic so how is the hair of your father, grandfather, etc... Also, a dermatologist deals with all areas of the skin, so it could be true that one could help with hair loss problems, since it does come out of your skin, but I've never dealt with hair loss problems so I wouldn't know for sure. Good luck!

Im i losing my hair or my mind?

You will probably go bald like me, but here's some comebacks. You can't grow grass on a busy street. It's a solar panel for a sex machine.God gave hair to some but brains to others.

Hair dye that doesn't turn hair red!!!?

I'm starting to get quite a few grey hairs so have had to start dying my hair to cover them up :) I have medium to light brown hair naturally and just want a similar shade to my own which isn't too flat (I know medium/light brown hair can look dull). I tried an ashy brown with highlights by Loreal which looked lovely on the packet and this went a nasty reddy/orange colour as it clashes with my skin which can be quite pink :)Can anyone recommend a good med/ligh brown/dark blonde hair dye which won't go brassy/red? Thanks xxx

Hair dye that doesn't turn hair red!!!?

Awh, bad luck!

Try something from "Nice 'N Easy"

Their hair dyes work very well and stays on for ages.

Hair dye that doesn't turn hair red!!!?

Hair questions???

I have medium/dark brunette hair. (brunette is brown) I used garnier fructis and it made my hair very soft and added more shine to it, but my hair shines like mirror in only a certain type of light. Any homemade treatments that you can recomend that has helpedy your hair shine at all times? I want my hair to be like shiny silk. Sometimes my hair also feels dry, so can I also have a homemade remedy to moisturize my hair?

Also, I've straightened my hair chemically about 4 times. How can i have my hair wavy again?

And is there a way that I can make my thick hair strands into fine/very thin hair strands?

Hair questions???

Well for the shine you should add a few drops of Jojoba oil into your conditioner. You can find it at any health store. Also putting olive oil will help with your dry hair.

Hair questions???

an oil treatment every few weeks espicaly if blow dry all time. after one bottle of shampoo change to something else like pantine then back and froth, it's not good to use the same all times. then use a conditioning treatment in between a couple time a month. u can use reg. conditoner just apply to wet hair and leave in for 1/2 hour then rince. for the oil treatment u can use reg cooking oil and put a damp hot towel on.

Perm my hair?

Okay, I'm 14 and I want to get my hair permed. After reading through tons of perm-related topics here, it seems that getting a perm is a very bad idea, yet, I still want to get one since I want curly hair.

I have dark, medium, thick, wavy hair... I've already done highlights and lightened my hair and all that, but I never felt satisfied. I just feel truly comfortable and pretty whenever I curl my hair.

I won't bother with curling irons, they just take toooooooo long.

Should I get a perm or not? Upsides and downsides of it?

Thanks much!

Perm my hair?

My first perm at 14 took on one side and didn't on the other. They had to reperm and when they did, I looked like a poodle stuffed in a dryer without a fabric softener sheet. I had coarse, poker straight hair. There are many curl enhancing products out there nowadays, that maybe you will be better off using them. If you must have curly hair, but don't want to deal with a curling iron, try this: Shampoo and condition your hair the night before with a curl enhancing product(like Fresh Curls from Redken, Suave makes a knock off of this product that works just as good, or you can use Curl Friends products). Redampen you hair in the morning and apply a curling balm or spray and scrunch. Or you can follow the first step(apply the balm or spray to dry hair) and keep the hair dry and take your hair in small sections, twist them and then set your hair with hot rollers. This way is alot quicker and you get some nice curls. If you want to keep the lock of the curl, make sure you spray with some hairspray.

Perm my hair?

i think that it would be fun to try it once...it is damaging for your hair but once should not be too bad...who knows you might not even like it

Perm my hair?

what i dont get y girls cant ever b satisfied w/ their hair i mean 1s w/ curly hair want it straightened and the 1s w/ straight hair want it curled 2b frank its stupid but u do whichever u think u would like more

Perm my hair?

DONT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! i got one. i loved it for a week. U can never fully brush your hair...all u can use is a pick and it has to be wet! they take to much effort!!plus, my hair got greesy in like 3 hours from all the product! Also, when it wore off, my previously bone strait hair is now frizzy and freekishly curly, so i straitin it. perms arent worth it...just every night, after u wash ur hair, poot it up in a bun (wet) and in the morning, put gel on it and skrunch it. (pick up parts of it and squeeze it up by ur head) then gel it agin w/ hairspray

Perm my hair?

no no no no no no! u can all ways scrunch it it will damage your hair really really bad

Perm my hair?

I've been getting my hair permed since I was about 14 (I'm 48 now) and I love them. I have fine straight hair, but a lot of it.

I do exactly what the hair stylist says as far as caring for my hair after a perm, and most people assume that my curls are real; there is no damage to my hair.

Since you've done other things to your hair chemically, you should really discuss this with a good hair stylist (not someone who just wants the job to get money). One who will give you the best advice for your hair.

I love my curls and I know exactly what you mean when you say you only feel comfortable and pretty with curls! (I always burn my neck on curling irons and they DO take too long).

Good luck!

Perm my hair?

I would say no because my daughter got one and her hair started to break off. If you do decide to get a perm go to someone who knows hair. It would be best to spend the extra money and get a good one than to end up with a really bad one. Also start a month before you go and use a clarifying shampoo this will help and never get a chemical activated perm it will burn your hair.

Good luck !

Perm my hair?

閳俱儮娅旈埦锔规珪 please wait until you are 18 to make a decision like this because the longer you wait the better off your hair will be, My Neice hair was to her butt and then she went and got a perm because she was tried of getting it straightened with the hot comb and then that is when her hair fell out and now she has a short cute bob but that is beside the point because every body told her not to do it but she did not want to listen and now her hair is gone. So now I am saying please don't do it. Why don't you get wash and sets and that will give you the straight look you are looking for or you can get press and curl that will look cute. I hope that I have helped you. 閳俱儮娅旈埦锔规珪

I really want to impress my new boyfriend at school!what can i do to my hair?

I dont want to cut it or dye it !my hair is medium dark brown! thanks x

I really want to impress my new boyfriend at school!what can i do to my hair?

Headbands can spice up your hair in seconds and can also complete an outfit!

I really want to impress my new boyfriend at school!what can i do to my hair?

curl it

I really want to impress my new boyfriend at school!what can i do to my hair?

if you have a subscription, or if you have a friend who does, check out some of the hairstyles that show up in Seventeen magazine, it's amazing.

If you're into braids, try the snake braid (thats what my aunt calls it. in Sky High, its what the nature girl wears when her hair is in braids).

You could also try soft curls and putting jewels in various places, or just curl it and clip little sections back-- Lindsay Lohan does this in a scene in Confessions of A Teenage Drama Queen, when the mean girl confronts her about not having a ticket to Stu Wolff's party.

Is there a good at home product to put very subtle warm highlights in dark hair?

The highlighting kits I've seen all seem to be blond or red. I can go red but when I tried putting streaks in it that were supposed to be "copper" they came out too blond and trust me, blond looks totally hideous and tacky with my complexion. My hair is medium dark brown and it gets orangey highlights at the ends from the sun. I just want to glam it up a bit with a shinier warmer brown, but not all over and maybe just a shade or two lighter... or do you have any other colour sugestions? I have dark brown eyes and a light olive complexion that often looks ruddy (red).

Is there a good at home product to put very subtle warm highlights in dark hair?

Here you go! I have your answer and most people do not know this. You can actually highlight your hair with hair dye! Choose a lighter color brown and just highlight it or foil it like you would with a highlighting kit! I do it all the time! Good luck

Is there a good at home product to put very subtle warm highlights in dark hair?

Well in the summer time i know if youu put lemon juice in your hair and and then sit in the sun u will get warm highlights because in is natural the lemon just busts it plus u can get a got tan. Other than that i don't know.

Is there a good at home product to put very subtle warm highlights in dark hair?

as long as you dont have a hair color already in your hair you can use a hair color a few shades lighter than yours....but be very careful with appling it you can go over board or have big splothes

Is there a good at home product to put very subtle warm highlights in dark hair?

No, if you're going to do it right, go to a hairdresser. Even going to a hairdressing school is better than attempting to colour your hair yourself and is relatively inexpensive. Otherwise, just don't bother or you're in for a world of heartache!!

How do you make your hair super shiny and healthy looking?

I just highlighted my hair and was wondering what I could do to restore its moisture and shine. I had medium strawberry blonde hair, and I added some light blonde highlights. Because blonde hair does not have the same reflective properties as brunette and black hair, I was hoping for some specific products or remedies designed for my type of problem.

Would a glaze work on my hair? I've been dying to try a gloss treatment at the salon, but I don't know if it will work with my new highlights. Just wondering...

How do you make your hair super shiny and healthy looking?

Best Answer - Chosen By Voters

if you are in India, then there is a product widely known as Livon. Extremely good to disentangle long hair. I speak from experience. It should be available under different trade names - the only prob is that I know it under this brand only.

Try it - cheers.

Rudy Giuliani has taken a tip from Harlan Ellison and trademarked his name. The Daily News doesn鈥檛 make it clear if he鈥檚 just slapped a 鈩?after it, or ponied up the money for a full 庐, but I think it鈥檚 a mistake to assume as Steve Benen does that this is just about Giuliani鈥檚 consulting business. The Trademark Dilution Act became law in October, and it allows an injunction against infringing actions 鈥渂y reason of dilution by tarnishment, the person against whom the injunction is sought willfully intended to harm the reputation of the famous mark.鈥?Speak ill of Rudy庐 (or Rudy鈩?, and you鈥檒l be shut down. 鈥擮h, sure, there鈥檚 an exemption carved out for 鈥渁ll forms of news reporting and news commentary,鈥?but who the hell knows what that is, anymore?

Is that a 75mm recoilless rifle on your Vespa, or are you happy to see me?

Teresa linked to this:

The ACMA Troupes Aer贸l Port茅es Mle. 56.

Which is, yes, a Vespa scooter fitted with a 75mm recoilless rifle.

After World War II, there was little money for defense spending while the nations of Europe rebuilt their industry and society. When there was some cash to spend, one had to be creative to stretch it as far as possible. The French probably accomplished the most astounding example of that with the ACMA Troupes Aer贸l Port茅es Mle. 56. Deployed with their airborne forces, this was essentially a militarized Vespa scooter outfitted with a 75mm recoilless rifle. Five parachutes would carry the two-man gun crew, weapon, ammunition, and two scooters safely to earth, and the men would load the weapon on one scooter and the ammo on the other, then ride away. More impressively, the recoilless rifle could be fired effectively on the move by the best of the gun crews. Total cost? About $500 for the scooter and the recoilless rifle was war surplus. Were they successful military machines? Well, the French Army deployed about 800 armed scooters in wars conducted in both Algeria and Indochina.

This, for whatever reason, reminded me of this old thread over at Vince Baker鈥檚 joint鈥攕pecifically, this comment:

ROCKING WITH JFC FULLER

There are three things you can do in a fight:

1. HURT THE OTHER GUY 鈥?how hard can you hit the other guy with your rock/RPG/railgun?

2. PROTECT YOURSELF 鈥?how hard are you to hit, and how hard a hit can you take?

3. MOVE AROUND 鈥?how fast can you move, over whatever ground?

The core dilemma: Anything you do to make yourself better at one of these things makes you worse at one or both of the others.

That applies on all scales:

1. 鈥滱s long as I stay in this ditch, they can鈥檛 shoot me! But I can鈥檛 shoot back, unless I stand up鈥攚hich makes it easier for them to shoot me, too鈥攁nd I can鈥檛 move except back and forth in the ditch鈥攗nless I get out and run鈥攚hich makes it easier for them to shoot me and I鈥檒l be moving too fast too aim.鈥?br> 2. 鈥滿en, form a square! Excellent, now Napoleon鈥檚 cavalry cannot hope to overrun us. But with men facing all four directions instead of in a line, we can鈥檛 concentrate our musket fire against any one target, and if we wanted to march anywhere, we would really move faster in column formation.鈥?br> 3. 鈥漈his new tank has impenetrable armor! But that means no engine we can put in it will move it very fast. And if we want to put a bigger gun in it, it鈥檒l be even slower, unless we get rid of some armor鈥?鈥?br> 4. 鈥漁ur clan has always been safe in the mountains! If those filthy lowlanders try to attack, we just slaughter them like sheep in the narrow passes! Of course, if we try to attack the lowlanders, they just slaughter us coming out the other end of the passes. And even in a year with little snow, we can barely move warriors from one village to another.鈥?br>

See how the same iron triangle of tradeoffs repeats itself? The only way out of the dilemma鈥攕ometimes!鈥攊s higher technology, but even then, once you get the more powerful engine for your tank (or whatever), you just move from your old trade-space to a new, slightly better trade-space.

I suppose because the Mle. 56 is a remarkably unexpected method of squaring this particular iron triangle. But also because I like to imagine the Ilk of Jonah being chased by squads of the dam鈥?things. 鈥擨 am, at base, a petty, petty man.

Anyway: into the commonplace book it goes.

鈥淛eff Conaway!鈥?I said to myself, stumbling over the name in maybe a Gawker Stalker or something, pegging him by the reference to his Christianity. Now that I have his name, I can go to imdb and scroll down his credits and trust that the name of the show will be self-evident. 鈥擨鈥檇 forgotten the name of the show, see, and everyone who was in it except the star who was the guy from Grease and later Taxi whose name I could never remember. (Though for whatever reason the whole born-again thing stuck with me.) I don鈥檛 even remember the show itself that well, just that it was funny when I was fifteen, and I cared enough about it to hurry back to the hotel room after a swim meet so I could coax the bunny ears into pulling down a relatively snow-free CBS signal. Then they killed it. 鈥擜nd now I learn that most of the episodes were directed by Bill Bixby. Wizards and Warriors. Damn. Everything鈥檚 pretty much in this intertubes thing somewhere, isn鈥檛 it? (Except, y鈥檏now, the actual episodes.)

I am a Southerner, for all that I鈥檓 expatriate鈥攂orn in Alabama, raised in Virginia and the Carolinas and Kentucky, I graduated high school in John Hughes land and attended a famously liberal arts college on the North Coast of Ohio. Since then, I鈥檝e lived my life in New York and Boston and the Pioneer Valley and Portland, Oregon, and I haven鈥檛 spent more than two weeks at a stretch south of the Mason Dixon. (And those stretches are sometimes awfully few and far between.) 鈥擝ut I cook up hoppin鈥?john for New Year鈥檚, every year (though, apostasic, I make it without the fatback). I taught my Jersey girl how to eat grits and I make my biscuits from scratch. (Food? Don鈥檛 laugh. Look to the roots of your own tongue.) 鈥擨鈥檓 haunted by the smell of magnolia blossoms, plucked and left in a drinking glass on the mantelpiece. (They smell lemony, the same way apples do.) Long pine needles crushed underfoot, dry, not wet and silvery grey; evergreens burnt brown by the sun. I always forget until I see it from the window of the plane, how red the dirt is, scraped up, laid shockingly bare in circles of development scars that will always ring Charlotte: how wrong it looks, how raw. It鈥檚 not the color the earth is supposed to be. It鈥檚 alien; I鈥檓 home.

For a couple of weeks, at most. And then.

(鈥淵ou will find no other place, no other shores,鈥?says C.P. Cavafy. 鈥淭his city will possess you, and you鈥檒l wander the same streets. In these same neighborhoods you鈥檒l grow old; in these same houses you鈥檒l turn grey.鈥?

鈥擨f you aren鈥檛 Southern, I don鈥檛 know that I can explain the little thrill I felt when I saw the motto for the Levine Museum of the New South: 鈥淭elling the story鈥?865 to tomorrow.鈥?Shock is hardly the word. Frisson even seems too strong. It鈥檚 a stifled giggle; a flash of a grin, at something you鈥檇鈥檝e done yourself, but never would have thought to do. It hardly seems worth mentioning, but鈥攚ell, maybe the About Us page will bring it into focus for the Yankees among us?

What is the New South?

The New South means people, places and a period of time 鈥?from 1865 to today. Levine Museum of the New South is an interactive history museum that provides the nation with the most comprehensive interpretation of post-Civil War southern society featuring men, women and children, black and white, rich and poor, long-time residents and newcomers who have shaped the South since the Civil War.

New South Quick Facts

* A Time鈥擳he New South is the period of time from 1865, following the Civil War, to the present.

* A Place鈥擳he New South includes areas of the Southeast U.S. that began to grow and flourish after 1865.

* An Idea鈥擳he New South represents new ways of thinking about economic, political and cultural life in the South.

* Reinvention鈥擳he New South encompasses the spirit of re-invention. The end of slavery forced the South to reinvent its economy and society.

* People鈥擳he New South continuously reinvents itself as newcomers, natives, immigrants, visitors and residents change the composition and direction of the region.

To say that you are about the South, but dismiss the antbellum鈥攏ot to forget, because who can forget, not even to repudiate it, but to wave it off as no longer important to the South you want to look at, here and now鈥?Don鈥檛 throw out the cotton and the rice, the pastel dresses and grey uniforms, the stars and bars and whips and chains. Those things are all still very much alive and kicking. But cut out the thing that props them up, the hollow rites, the archly wounded pride; blithely (if a little self-consciously) announce you鈥檙e leaving the Civil War well enough alone, to all the many other hands that want it; you will turn your attention to everything else, and watch it all fall into some saner perspective鈥?865 to tomorrow鈥?br>

(鈥淗ow long can I let my mind moulder in this place?鈥?says C.P. Cavafy. 鈥淲herever I turn, wherever I happen to look, I see the black ruins of my life, here, where I鈥檝e spent so many years, wasted them, destroyed them totally.鈥?

The Levine Museum of the New South is currently hosting an exhibit called 鈥淔amilies of Abraham.鈥?Eight photographers spent over a year with 11 families in the Charlotte area鈥擟hristian families, Jewish families, Muslim families鈥攔ecording their holidays and everydays, putting the photos together to demonstrate that when you set aside the different words we鈥檝e each plucked from the same shambolic Book and just look at the people, going about their lives, well, under the chadors and yarmulkes and double-knit blazers we鈥檙e all, y鈥檏now, the same. Basically.

Which is why, given the way things currently are, what with the Pragers and the Goodes and the Qutbs, this show is important. 鈥擝ut it鈥檚 not why it鈥檚 important to me.

Basheer Khatoon with her great-grandson, Raahil.

That鈥檚 a photo (by my mother, which is why the show is important to me, yes, but), a photo of Basheer Khatoon with her great-grandson, Raahil, taken in the home she shares with her son, a Charlotte cardiologist.

My South鈥攖he South in my head, the South I came from鈥攄oesn鈥檛 have a Basheer Khatoon. But there she indisputably is. Alien鈥攁nd yet, from all the years I鈥檝e spent since and elsewhere, heimlich. The world has come to the South; the South鈥攎y South鈥攊s becoming part of the world.

No matter where we go, there we are; we find no other place, no other shore. We wander the same streets, grow old in the same neighborhoods. 鈥擝ut those streets change.

How do you make your hair super shiny and healthy looking?

Use hair cholesteral. I know it sounds gross, but it is really cheap and works so awesome! I used it when I fried my hair out by bleaching too many times. With one treatment it was back to normal, not to mention full and shiny and super healthy looking. It's in the ethnic hair section of any Walmart, or in beauty supply shops.

How do you make your hair super shiny and healthy looking?

Do you use BioSilk? Or try a Henna treatment at a salon that offers it.

How do you make your hair super shiny and healthy looking?

Go to your supermarket and try a "gloss" or a "shine" spray or serum. They're very effective and usually work by coating the hair in a layer of silicone to give it a shiny appearance and lustrous texture. Use sparingly though, as gloss/shine sprays that DO contain silicone will eventually damage the hair through silicone build up. Anything with castor oil in it is great too (Garnier Fructis makes a great products).

Have fun! :)

How do you make your hair super shiny and healthy looking?

Biosilk makes a wonderful gloss that doesn't weigh your hair down. The gloss treatment at the salon will also work but it fades pretty quick.

How do you make your hair super shiny and healthy looking?

Yes use some kind of oil. Ex: Biosilk is wonderful. use it daily, on mid shaft out. on wet hair. blow it dry and i guarantee you'll love your hair

How do you make your hair super shiny and healthy looking?

Some conditioners have special chemicals [not really chemicals] but they have certain things in them that make your hair shinny and very healthy looking. Try looking for one that says it on the bottle. Also after you shower, if you turn the water reallyyy cold then just rinse your hair in the cold water, it's suppose to make it look shiny and healthy. I do it all the time, it really does work. :]

My 8 grade luncheon is tomorrow what should i do to my hair?

my hair is medium long... i don't want anythin to fancy or to casual mabey in the middle. sumthing that will hold up until my gratuation on saturday .mabey curl's, or hump or twisties sumthing that will fit over my CAP

My 8 grade luncheon is tomorrow what should i do to my hair?

u could get some twist in the front and then u do some tight curls at the back use hair spray wihich will hold them in or for ur luncheon u could do the twist then pull ur hair back in a bun then saturday u can do the curls so it will be a different style

My 8 grade luncheon is tomorrow what should i do to my hair?

Gurl If It was Me If u have The Time i would Twist it in The Front and Then Curl The Back (unless u Think Thats To Fancy for that Luncheon)

My 8 grade luncheon is tomorrow what should i do to my hair?

i just say to get like 6 twisties in the middle of yo head in the front... not long ones but short ones... then you can take just one long strand of hair [ kinda like a bang] and gice it a nice curl.... then wear the rest straight that would be so cuyoot....

My 8 grade luncheon is tomorrow what should i do to my hair?

It's really hard to make a style last for three days, so really you should have two different ones! For your luncheon, you should take advantage of the fact that you don't have to wear the hat, and wear a really cute hairband and curl your hair in the back. For saturday though, you should still do curly hair cause it's really big this year, check out some pictures below to help you out a little more!

My 8 grade luncheon is tomorrow what should i do to my hair?

cool! im only in seventh grade, but my friend in 8th grade got her hair like twisted into lots of little rolls in the front, almost like scalp braids, had the middle puffed up a little, and curled the bottom. it sounds complicated but the hair looked really nice. it was casual, almost sophisticated but not quite. i think it was so cute!

i hope you find how to do your hair, and look awesome!

Which hair color diminishes acne redness best?

I have medium/dark brown hair and fair skin. My acne stands out more because of my light skin. Will dark hair make me look paler and bring out the redness more? Is there a color I can dye my hair that will reduce the appearance of blemishes on my face?

Which hair color diminishes acne redness best?

get rid if the blemishes

that simple,

go to your local gp and get some medication

Which hair color diminishes acne redness best?

I don't think so..Just use a brozer to help hide your blemishes. And keep up with an acne medicine.

Which hair color diminishes acne redness best?

Unfortunately, no. The one color that offsets redness is green. That's why sometmes you see coverup in green tones. But I don't think coloring your hair green is the answer!

Which hair color diminishes acne redness best?

I think a strawberry blonde would tone down the blemishes appearance.

Do you feel better in your self when you just had a fresh hair cut ?

Yeah, I somehow feel clean and neat and fresh! But long hair is beautiful, too.

Do you feel better in your self when you just had a fresh hair cut ?

Yes I always feel a lot better, but its short lived :(

Do you feel better in your self when you just had a fresh hair cut ?

I'm usually so upset after a hair cut...I feel worse. I have really long hair and it never ceases to amaze me how people can somehow botch up a trim.

Do you feel better in your self when you just had a fresh hair cut ?

if its a style i like yes. but i have long hair and because im used to it, it always feels shorter after being cut and i dont like it. i think my hair is something im proud of and one of my best features so thats why i dont like getting it cut. only reason i do is to keep it in nice condition, and i love it when its styled.

Do you feel better in your self when you just had a fresh hair cut ?

lol, Yes I'm sure you do!

I always feel the same..diff cut of course..

Do you feel better in your self when you just had a fresh hair cut ?

Fringe is great for this spring, so keep it. And here are some great picutres of hair for this spring with fringe. http://www.uamodels.net/archives/spring-...

I can't wear a fringe, it doesn't suit me:(

My roots are starting to show - should I dye all of my hair or only the roots?

My hair is medium brown, and I've dyed it a slightly richer redish/brownish colour. I want it to be even - should I dye only the roots, or the whole head?

I'm not sure if there is any peroxide in the colour.

My roots are starting to show - should I dye all of my hair or only the roots?

Just do the roots, then every other time, do your whole head to refresh the color, especially if you notice it fading, since red is the fastest color to fade. Also use shampoo/conditioner for colored hair, Pureology is the best kind, but rather expensive. It's easier to go to a salon, they know what to do better.

My roots are starting to show - should I dye all of my hair or only the roots?

there are some root products out there, if you color your

hair again the roots are still gonna be a different color.

My roots are starting to show - should I dye all of my hair or only the roots?

If it's healthy, dye it all. If not, just do the roots.

My roots are starting to show - should I dye all of my hair or only the roots?

just dye the roots the same color of hair

My roots are starting to show - should I dye all of my hair or only the roots?

if you have 'roots' the color has peroxide.

if the color has peroxide it's a permanant color.

permanent colors only get the 'roots' done.

if the color has faded thru the ends it can be pulled thru on the last 5 minutes only.

My roots are starting to show - should I dye all of my hair or only the roots?

Dye your roots

My roots are starting to show - should I dye all of my hair or only the roots?

only the roots..your whole head does not need to be dyed over and over

Should I get permanent extensions, or just wait for my hair to grow out?

I already have clip in extensions, %26amp; my hair is medium long...But I just want it to be longer!

Haha. Well what's your opinion?

Just wait for it to grow, or get permanent extentions?

Thank you for your input.

Should I get permanent extensions, or just wait for my hair to grow out?

Don't get permanent extensions they just damage your natural hair, instead go to a hair salon, and get your ends trimmed every 3 weeks or so- this actually allows your hair to grow longer (the cut ends won't split allowing more space for hair to become longer)

Hope this helped! =)

Should I get permanent extensions, or just wait for my hair to grow out?

Perm extensions will ruin the hair you have, just wait for it to grow.

Should I get permanent extensions, or just wait for my hair to grow out?

what are permanent extentions how can extentions b permanent

Should I get permanent extensions, or just wait for my hair to grow out?

you just just wait for it to grow

Should I get permanent extensions, or just wait for my hair to grow out?

get something for it to grow out faster, permanent extensions are permanent, they tend to fall out when you brush your hair

Should I get permanent extensions, or just wait for my hair to grow out?

no wayyyyy

let is grow... i would NEVER take a chance with that your hair could become horrible and then you would have to be bald like britney and then your problem would be back. LET IT GROW!!!!

(:

Should I get permanent extensions, or just wait for my hair to grow out?

Wait for it to grow. I love when my hair gets longer and I can say " oh my gosh. My hair is growing!" lol..It's exciting. Just remember to take good care of it.

Should I get permanent extensions, or just wait for my hair to grow out?

I would suggest letting it grow out and just using your clip-ins. Have you considered getting longer clip-ins while you wait for your hair to grow out?

Should I get permanent extensions, or just wait for my hair to grow out?

there are no such things as permanent extensions. if you do go the extension route DO NOT try to pass them off as your own hair. extensions are very common these days so there's no shame in that. but if you're trying to pass and one of the clips comes out (like it did this week with a girl at work) you will look foolish. if you are honest when asked and admit they are extensions, then you won't face any shame if you have a mishap. i tend to think that clip-in extensions look blatantly fake, because you can always see a distinct line where the real hair ends laying on top of the fake hair. also, try to match your color as closely as possible.

also, i am a sociology student conducting an anonymous study on relationships. if you would like to participate, visit: http://geocities.com/sbiv37/marr

Should I get permanent extensions, or just wait for my hair to grow out?

extensions are never permanent. they grow out with your hair and then you have to get them retied. while it makes your hair longer the experience in my opinion was painful and its expensive. i would just wait until it grows out

Should I get permanent extensions, or just wait for my hair to grow out?

I have a friend who had the same ''issue''. She decided to try permanent extensions and when she tried to remove them.....oh my.....so much of her hair fell out! It was terrible. I suggest you wait until it grows out. Its the best thing to do.

Good Luck : )

Should I get permanent extensions, or just wait for my hair to grow out?

If you get permanent extentions make sure you have the money for maintenance b/c it can be a very expensive process. I suggest speaking to someone who is a Certified Extentionist who specializes in growing your own hair while having extensions.

Note: Do not do this yourself b/c you could damage your hair, let someone who has experience give you the hair analysis that may be right for your hair type.

Should I get permanent extensions, or just wait for my hair to grow out?

just get a protien dermabound

Should I get permanent extensions, or just wait for my hair to grow out?

yea go for it i wnat extenstions so super bad but get them done at a salon and have them done right

I have two year old shih tzu. His hair seems to be thinning, what is causing it and what should we d

I have two year old shih tzu. His hair seems to be thinning, what is causing it and what should we do?

There could be endless reasons, could be he has allergies, his diet may not be good(hopefully you are feeding a grain free food), he may have dry skin, could have many other things wrong. Have you taken him to the vet?

I have two year old shih tzu. His hair seems to be thinning, what is causing it and what should we do?

You are bathing him too much.

A dog should only be bathed once a month. Inbetween bathings, wipe their eyes and nose to keep them clean. Since you are brushing them, you are keeping the oils from catching dirt on the skin, so they shouldn't have an odor.

I have two year old shih tzu. His hair seems to be thinning, what is causing it and what should we do?

you are either bathing him too much or he doesnt get enough vitamin E in his diet.

I have two year old shih tzu. His hair seems to be thinning, what is causing it and what should we do?

According to the vet I worked for, you're bathing him too much. Doing so takes away the protective oils that are supposed to be there and can cause endless problems. You may want to get your dog to your vet and make sure he doens't have a skin condition that could be causing the hair loss. Also, make sure he's on a good, quality diet.

Which is in right now........long or short hair....Blond, Brunet, or Red?

i think right now its kind of like whatever you want...at my school a lot of people have cute short hair and long hair. i think red would be cool. i think bleached blonde is going out....

Which is in right now........long or short hair....Blond, Brunet, or Red?

depends what conutry you're in, blonds are in for the summer - I live in the UK and it's summer now so ive gone for a classy blond, i was brown in the winter but a nice light colour is just the thing! if you go black you will look like a goth and if you go ginger you will get bullied even though its a pretty colour and different to everyone else. ive gone for my whole fringe parted to one side and layerd with all my hair layerd too it looks very stylish and people compliment it alot, it's coming in fashion now =D yiiippiiee - i know theres alot to chose from i couldnt chose either, so how about looking in hair magazines or celebs this month see if theres anything that caches your eye! good luck xx

Which is in right now........long or short hair....Blond, Brunet, or Red?

In the south it's short hair with a variety of colors

in the north it's brunette

Which is in right now........long or short hair....Blond, Brunet, or Red?

the celebs are really into regular straight brunette looking hair, you know reall natural.

Which is in right now........long or short hair....Blond, Brunet, or Red?

Short layers are very in right now. I have long layers...and i hate them.

The color doesnt really matter. Even though for the summer, most girls dye theri hair lighter or even bleached blonde. I think you should just pick a color that matches your face. Brunette matches mostly everyone.

Right now, the length shouldnt be too long. It shouldnt be near your butt. The longest you can go for is probably the middle of your back. Short hair is in too. But not very short. Only up to your shoulders. Actually, length should depend on your age. If youre younger, you can do any hairstyle, but not too short. If youree older, shorter hair is better.

Also, straight hair is very in right now. I never used to use a hair straightener, but since i noticed theres barely a person i nteh mall with curly hair, i bought a hair straightener and started using it. Also, ive noticed that every 5 questions i nthe hair section on Y! answers is a hair straightenr question. That also proves my point. But....if straight here looks pretty bad on you....then try the "beach" look. A little wavy.

The hairstyle that ive noticed a lot of people do is that little puff at the top of your hair. Do you know what i eman by that?? All you have to do is just take your bangs and flip them over, making a little hill at the top of your head and clip them o nthe back. I really like this hairstyle since it matches my face. You can do this with a bun, ponytail, curly hair, straight hair, wavy hair, etc. Also, people my age like sidebangs a lot.

Well, since your hair is medium length, try trimming it a little and maybe dye it brunette. Also, bangs are a must for every hairstyle. I'm not talking about just sidebangs- get bangs that actually match your face. Ask you hairdresser to pick bangs out for you. Well, i cant really decide the hairstyle for you.....but i think i helped...if only a little.

How do I get the back of my hair to grow?

My hair is medium length but for some reason the back just at the neck is really, really short and it itches alot. What shampoos are the best to stop the itching and what can I use to make it grow?

How do I get the back of my hair to grow?

How do I get the back of my hair to grow?

get extentions

How do I get the back of my hair to grow?

get hair extenchens

How do I get the back of my hair to grow?

The best method is to not wear your hair in braids for a while and then use hair grease in the back. It might take a while to grow back but it works. What ever you do, don't but any tension or don't get it braided because if you do, it pulls the hair out and you don't want that!

How do I get the back of my hair to grow?

I don't know ask my dad

How do I get the back of my hair to grow?

If you're of ethnic origin you may need to shampoo your hair at least 2XS pr. wk.- I know that its a pain, but you're really going to have to go that extra mile for yourself, you're worth it! You need to start by trimming your hair every3-4wks. and using a deep cleansing shampoo such as Head and Shoulders, followed by a moisturizing cond, and Nioxins NX3 Booster. After your shampoos, and conditioning treatment you may opt to slightly remove excess water by either towel blotting your hair, or slightly blow drying it, then putting on wrap lotion as well as leave-in cond., then wrap your hair nightly. Wrapping allows your hair to remain in a healthy state, by not using heat which IS VERY DAMAGING to hair, especially chemically treated hair. When you style your hair in the mornings, simply spray on an oil sheen, and style your wrap as desired. Even if you're not of ethnic origin this treatment will definitely still work for you, considering you may shampoo, and cond. your hair more often. Good luck.

What is a cute way to wear my hair?

I think you can wear your hair down or up in a pony tail

What is a cute way to wear my hair?

I need more info, like is your hair straight? Then curl it for a more formal different look. Maybe get highlights to look older, or get a small clip and have your hair back and away from your face to look more grown up. Even plain old down with the right makeup can make you look older.

What is a cute way to wear my hair?

Loose barrel curls would look nice, with a bit of makeup. :)

What is a cute way to wear my hair?

a french twist with a few wavy strands in the front and the back hairline.

What is a cute way to wear my hair?

if i were you i would try sidebangs and if they isnt enough time for a haircut just try straighting and curling only the ends.....i love doing that to my staraight hair

What is a cute way to wear my hair?

if your going to be showering-

when you get out of the shower put volumizer on your hair(if you have thinner hair) otherwise you can skip the volumizer. Let your hair dry. Once your hair is dry put it in a pony tail then curl only the hair that is in the ponytail. Wallah! you have an incredibly adorably curly pony!

If you are not going to shower-

just put your hair in a ponytail and curl it!

(If you want you can kind of "pouf" your hair on the top of your head, if you know what i mean)

I wore this once when I was going out with my friends and they absolutely loved it! They also thought it made me look a few years older. they told me I should wear my hair like this more often so I sincerely hope if you try this it will work for you :)

Where can i get jet black or red hair dye?

My hair is medium and thick.

I tried sally's but i dont know what kind to get.

And i dont know where else to go.

Please help.

Where can i get jet black or red hair dye?

I've already dyed my hair those colors. Red underneath and black on top.

Walmart has this loreal colour rays (red very very very red, like a crayon) for about $8-$10 and it just colors over your natural hair color so you don't have to bleach it first or anything. My hair is dark brown and it just colored right over it.

As for the black you can get that at walmart also, or anywhere that sells hair dye.

Go to http://lorealparisusa.com/ and check out the hair color there first if you have questions about it.

I know you can get it at walmart but idk where else.

Wavy hair?! How do I get it?

i have almost the exact same hair as you exept mine is alittle longer -like lower back lenght- and it is very thick so i no where your coming from it gets frizz and always poofs when you brush it wat i do is brush my hair well then spray in "brillant brunette starlit waves" by john frieda. but it won't work as well if you brush your hair after so brush it well and spray all over your hair. this product is also great because it addes shine!!!

Wavy hair?! How do I get it?

pop

Wavy hair?! How do I get it?

well.. since you already have wavy hair make sure to condition the ends well.. use a leave in anti-frizz serum, (anti-frizz by john freida is great )and work it all through your hair.. use a diffuser to enhance your waves and you should be good to go

What could i do to my hair besides leaving it down under my graduation cap?

My hair is medium length and sits on my neck. I want it up off my neck because it's going to get hot while I'm sitting at graduation. Anyone have any ideas as to how to put it up and still look good?

What could i do to my hair besides leaving it down under my graduation cap?

You should curl it and put it all in a side pony. it will be off your neck that way.

Congrats!

What could i do to my hair besides leaving it down under my graduation cap?

What could i do to my hair besides leaving it down under my graduation cap?

What could i do to my hair besides leaving it down under my graduation cap?

What could i do to my hair besides leaving it down under my graduation cap?

i think thats a classic look that alot of the girls might do but then again what can you do under a graduation cap !

if you wanna look different change your hair color or just style it in a different way !

good luck !

and congrats !

What could i do to my hair besides leaving it down under my graduation cap?

A chignon or a french twist will be classic. Go to www.elle.com for how-to instructions.

What could i do to my hair besides leaving it down under my graduation cap?

there r many things that can be done even under a cap. cute cirls are always admired!!! or a side ponytail would be cute (even if u cirled ur hair and did a side ponytail). these r some great ways to make it look fancy and fun!!! good luck at ur graduation!!! if you curl your hair under the cap, take the cap off immidiately after graduation to show everyone how cute you look lol.

What could i do to my hair besides leaving it down under my graduation cap?

Graduation caps are notoriously unflattering, and really nothing will look good with it, so it's best to go with what's least offensive. I think the classic look with hair down and maybe some soft curls looks best. Remember, this is a picture that your parents will treasure and look at for years to come, so don't do anything wacky. Just keep it simple, and make sure it looks healthy, shiny, and as feminine as possible. Ponytails look weird in combination with the cap and gown, since it's such a gender-ambiguous outfit you'll be wearing. Congratulations!

How can i get my mom to let me dye my hair?

i mean it's my hair and i don't want to go to dark or to light. i mean right now my hair is medium brown with a little bit of red and i want to go a little darker. it's a change but not a HUGE change. plus i'm going to be in 8 th grade next year and i want a fresh urban and more stylish hair.

PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!!!

How can i get my mom to let me dye my hair?

Talk it over reasonably with her. Maybe you can work out a compromise? I wanted to dye my hair wacky colors in sixth grade, but my mom and I argued it out and settled on highlights. Or you could always try a semi-permanent dye, but it would be a bad idea to make your mom angry by going behind her back.

How can i get my mom to let me dye my hair?

i would say that you're a little too young to be wanting 2 dye your hair

How can i get my mom to let me dye my hair?

just walk to the drug store

buy some dye..its like 10 bucks

and have a friend or a friends parent dye it

nothing your mom can do about it :)

How can i get my mom to let me dye my hair?

i had this same talk with my mom...

just sit her down...

and say to her that you really really want this

and that you will do the color that she approves k

best of luck~~

How can i get my mom to let me dye my hair?

MY MOM iS LiKE THAT ALSO ONLY SHE`LL LET ME GET iT TO A 'NORMAL' HAiR COLOR BUT i WANT iT RED[.HALF BOTTOM.] BUT NO i CAN`T EVEN GET iT TO A DARK RED ON MY WHOLE HEAD

BLACK SHE WiLL!

How can i get my mom to let me dye my hair?

Buy a box of hair bleach and do that first. Then go to her crying and tell her that you HAVE to dye it back to normal. Get a color that is VERY close to your normal color (as it will look darker than the box says usually).

How can i get my mom to let me dye my hair?

I'd say make a deal with her that you will do some extra housework, or reading, or something of her choosing. Also you might want to ask her why she doesn't want you to dye your hair? maybe she thinks that you are too young, then you should tell her that you do respect her ideas, but that you simply want to look different not become a whole other person. If she thinks that it'll cost too much tell her that you will save up to have it done in a salon.

And remind her that her experiences aren't yours if she says that it will mess up your hair. That you have to try things out on your own, and that if you dye it now you can grow it out and dye it back by the time school starts just in case you hate it.

How can i get my mom to let me dye my hair?

you have to be happy with yourself now before anything and have to be convinced that it isnt the end of the world if u dont dye your hair.

speak to her and tell her that it will really make you more confident and make u more happy and you are just trying it out for summer!

i hope i helped,

zoe sampson

if u have any questions ( about ANYTHING!) email me at helpfromzoesampson@yahoo.com

How can i get my mom to let me dye my hair?

i went thru the same thing i kept begging my mom 2 let me dye my hair red not bright red but lyke dark red but she kept on saying no so i jus did it without her knowing when she seen it she was mad but she couldnt do n e thing about but she got over it in a week

How can i get my mom to let me dye my hair?

making ur hair darker will most likely make u look worse

How can i get my mom to let me dye my hair?

Wait.....

How can i get my mom to let me dye my hair?

Well sit down with her and talk to her about it. Be nice and polite. Tell her what you want to do and why. And say youll use a semi permanent color that will wash out after a few washings. And if she says yes take it from there. If she says no try getting a different cut and try again at another time. Dont argue though if she says no or she might not ever let you do it. Good Luck !!!!

How can i get my mom to let me dye my hair?

When I first started dying my hair it took a lot of convincing my mom. At the time there was this stuff called Glintz that only lasted a week or 2 at most. It was baby steps. The closer to my color and the less it lasted, the more my mom was happy. She would let me re-dye it every month. As I got older, about your age, she started to let me try a more permanent dye and colors that were a little darker (my hair is blonde). Maybe you want to try it with your mom.

Products like bed head and got2b have temporary dye but the colors can be a bit ourtrageous. Clairol Natural Instincts is semi-permanent and usually comes out within a month and a half. There are a variety of semi-permanent and temporary dyes out there so see if you can compromise with your mom.

How can i get my mom to let me dye my hair?

i had the same problem. My hair is dark brown almost black and i wanted to dye some strands pink. I bleached it then just did nothing. Then two days ago i colored it again. Blue, blonde, pink, and my normal brown. Just take baby steps with your mom. First do a "streak" test, which is just a test where you dye a little bit of her hair usually where it is not very noticeable. Once you do that you and your mom will have an idea of how it will look. So as i said before just take baby steps and don't rush in. Also ask her why she won't let you do it. If everything fails just do it by yourself! GOOD LUCK!!!

How do I go from med/dark brown to honey blonde hair color w/out too much damage?

My hair is medium brown in the front %26amp; dark brown in the back. I tried "sun-in" before %26amp; got the color I wanted- but damaged my hair %26amp; ended up having to cut a lot of hair. What should I use to condition %26amp; how do I go about coloring?

How do I go from med/dark brown to honey blonde hair color w/out too much damage?

Been there. Don't use sun in products they make your hair brittle. Use a good coloring, most makers of color dyes have charts, choose one that best suits you. Or try some rinse in colors, the new Feirer by Loreal is gently. Read the directions carefully. Time does factor in. From dark to light.

How do I go from med/dark brown to honey blonde hair color w/out too much damage?

I would go to a professional. They have the best for coloring and also for treating/conditioning.

How do I go from med/dark brown to honey blonde hair color w/out too much damage?

There is a product called un-color it is really safe for your hair. You just put it in and sit under a hooded dryer for about 30 minutes and it makes your hair virgin again. I have used this many times. I have gone from jet black to honey blonde in a few hours and it has not damaged my hair at all. I would only suggest that you wait atleast a month or so before adding any new chemicals. Semi permanent is also a good option.

How do I go from med/dark brown to honey blonde hair color w/out too much damage?

I like the Loreal Products (Preference or Excellance) and my hair is waist length and been colored so long that i'm not sure what my real color is. As an note: I ALWAYS let my hair get really dirty bor several days before I dye it. The color seems to take better and I get more even results.

How do I go from med/dark brown to honey blonde hair color w/out too much damage?

If your hair is dyed brown, you will have to have the colour stripped out before you change to a lighter colour. Its best to have such extreme changes done in a salon by the professionals, as you have to be very careful.

I;ve done it twice and both times it was fine, altho you have to use a really good conditioner afterwards

Sun-in is dreadful stuff - please don't use it again!!

Jx

How do I go from med/dark brown to honey blonde hair color w/out too much damage?

Is your hair colored? If so, you need to remover the color. If you have a Sally's Beauty Supply store near you, go there %26amp; get L'Oreal Color Zap. It safely removes all color gently %26amp; w/o bleach! :) After, you dry your hair %26amp; then dye it the shade you want it. I have used this product a few times ( was very indecisive about what color to be) and it didn't damage my hair at all ! ( plus, it's a heck of a lot cheaper than going to a salon to do it)

Hair for prom?

i have medium length black hair with layers that are reaching my shoulders. I want to keep my hair down and curls don't look good on me, but im open to updo's but i really don't know how i can keep my hair up. I have a black dress if it helps... so help?

Hair for prom?

Leave the back down, but pull the front up and back and fasten it with a sparkly clip. Still have that loose and free effect, but it'll look a little dressy too. Have fun!

Down and straight

Hair for prom?

twist it on the sides and put it half up....buy a really pretty clip to clip it in the back.....

Hair for prom?

down is NOT a good idea. with the black dress, its just too dark with your hair down, plus it can get over whelming when your sweating with hair in your face.

if you want a "do it yourself" updo, i would try scrunching your hair (try to give it a more messy waves effects, not big defined curls).

the messy waves will totally give you more of the beachy chic look. then, try a lower, yet completely secure bun. you can do this one yourself or get freinds, professionals, etc to do it for you. put your hair in a loose, low ponytail. then, twist it up into a bun and use bobby pins all over to secure it. wisp back all hair so your face is exposed, and take some of your shorter layers out and let them fall naturally. looks amazing.

also try:

i think a single french braid or plait on black hair looks gorgeous. you can try that alone or with a headband to match.

try types of "pin-ups" or cool ponytails.

good luck!
