Is there a good at home product to put very subtle warm highlights in dark hair?

The highlighting kits I've seen all seem to be blond or red. I can go red but when I tried putting streaks in it that were supposed to be "copper" they came out too blond and trust me, blond looks totally hideous and tacky with my complexion. My hair is medium dark brown and it gets orangey highlights at the ends from the sun. I just want to glam it up a bit with a shinier warmer brown, but not all over and maybe just a shade or two lighter... or do you have any other colour sugestions? I have dark brown eyes and a light olive complexion that often looks ruddy (red).

Here you go! I have your answer and most people do not know this. You can actually highlight your hair with hair dye! Choose a lighter color brown and just highlight it or foil it like you would with a highlighting kit! I do it all the time! Good luck

Well in the summer time i know if youu put lemon juice in your hair and and then sit in the sun u will get warm highlights because in is natural the lemon just busts it plus u can get a got tan. Other than that i don't know.

as long as you dont have a hair color already in your hair you can use a hair color a few shades lighter than yours....but be very careful with appling it you can go over board or have big splothes

No, if you're going to do it right, go to a hairdresser. Even going to a hairdressing school is better than attempting to colour your hair yourself and is relatively inexpensive. Otherwise, just don't bother or you're in for a world of heartache!!
