My hair is medium brown*

Is lemon juice a good at lightening hair?

I have medium brown hair and use it in the summer time. I take a shower in the morning and then spray my wet hair with a mixture of lemon juice and water (half and half) and then sit outside and sun dry my hair. It works, but you need to double up on your conditioner.

only good for those whose hair is fair anyway.

only if you go and hang out in the sun afterwards... it takes a few times to start noticing the difference.

Yes. But don't use too much or it will dry out your hair.

It works to an extent but not really enough to make a difference. John Freida use to make some stuff to put in your hair when you were out in the sun to lighten it. I'm not sure if it's still around but it was mainly lemon.

It really only works well for people with light brown or blonde hair. Because of the pigmentation in medium brown hair and darker, if you use lemon juice or hydrogen peroxide it makes your hair a little more brassy and orangish looking. Get it professionaly done. Much less of a risk wit that. Good luck!

It is a good thing to mix in with your shampoo in teh summer to help bring out your natural light. However, im not sure if it would be safe to use on medium brown hair, it might turn it orange and that wouldnt be pretty. =/

for blond hair it is good because it brings out your natural highlights and adds shine, but i don't know about brown hair.

Is lemon juice a good at lightening hair?

it really depends on your hair type. and you have to go in the sun. next time you lay out in the sun or go to the pool or the lake, put some lemon juice in your hair when you put on sun lotion. if it works - then yes. if not - then no.

Is lemon juice a good at lightening hair?

Yes, you should wash your hair. Then apply lemon juice to your har. Then put your hair in a shower cap and wait for about 10 minutes. Then rinse it out. You can smell it but the smell is not loud. Then put it in a style and it might take a while to see results.

only if you go in the sun otherwise you will just have lemony fresh hair.

It is one of the first "bleaches used both on skin and body.(think freckles)However it will take a long time and sitting in the sun to get any lightening out of it on med brown hair. There are many good products to lighten hair that will not take as long, nor damage the hair as badly. If you want dramatic lightening bleach i if just a bit a lighter hair color will work well. If you are unsure of doing it yourself go to a salon. The professionals will know which is best for what you want.

Is lemon juice a good at lightening hair?

I have heard it is. In the summer you put it in your hair... then lay out in the sun. This is from what I've heard. =)

Is lemon juice a good at lightening hair?

I have medium brown hair and used lemon juice when I was in high school. I also used peroxide and sun in as well. It took several applications for it to work and once I got my hair blonde enough it was very dried out. My hair dresser was aggravated with me for ruining my hair. So, I guess it depends on how light you want your hair. If you want it blonde, I wouldn't recommend using lemon juice.
